CHARGE OF BIGAMY.
WATERSIDER PLEADS GUILTY. FORGED CHEQUE FOR HONEYMOON (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Leaving his lawful wife on March 31, Charles Bertie Filtes, watersider, aged 49 years, on the same day 'married another woman, with whom ho became acquainted through a newspaper advertisement, and went on a honeymoon to Palmerston North, using £57 .obtained by forging and uttering a cheque in his son’s name. He pleaded guilty to-day to bigamy and also forging and uttering, and was committed for sentence.
