RELIEF WORKERS.
COMPENSATION WHEN INJURED. CHANGED POLICY ADVOCATED. A suggestion from the Otahuhu Borough Council that the Unemployment Board should pay the usual rates to a relief worker during the period of his incapacitation through injuries received while engaged on relief work, ■came before the Hamilton Borough Council last evening. Thus, it was ■stated, local bodies would be enabled to dispense with the necessity of insuring them. It was also contended that the board would be put to no expense beyond a man’s usual wage •On the motion of the Mayor, Dr F. D. Pinfold, it was decided to support the Otahuhu Council and to make representations to the Government on the proposals.
