SPIRITUAL VALUES.
| 1 (To the Editor.) j 1 Sir—l • think Mr Magner is, no ! 1 doubt unwittingly, trying to lead us j[j further astray, when he advises us i I to divorce the spiritual from the ma- , £ terial. To overcome bur difficulties gj our greatest need is to allow spiritual Q activities to exercise a greater con- B trol over our daily actions. What we : really lack is ' j “A faith that will riot shrink, i Though pressed by many a foe j That will not tremble on the brink ' 1 Of poverty or woe." ! | And to act as nations and indi- : 1 viduals as Christ taught us to “seek | not what ye shall eat or what ye shall p drink, neither be of doubtful mind; [jj seek ye Arst the Kingdom of God, j| and all these things shall be added |j .unto you.’’ One fully realises how | very hard this Is 'to do and how very 1 far we fall short of carrying out this 1 advice, but lam fully persuaded that j the greater the effort along these j lines, the greater the relief will be from the- burden that presses so | heavily upon the world at the present | time.—l am, eto., I E.C.H.
