The riots at Bombay are spreading from the residential and shopping areas to the industrial quarter at the norihern end of the city, where 1000 workers have been rendered idle by the closing of 40 cotion mills. There have been frequent clashes with the troops and police, who again fired on the rioters. Many cases of stabbing, incendiarism and looting are reported. The casualties at midnight totalled well over 100 killed and nearly 1000 injured.
