SUICIDE OF A DENTIST.
VERDICT AT THE INQUEST. AUCKLAND, Friday. At the inquest yesterday concerning the death of a dentist, Francis Sinclair Shirriffs, aged 49, deceased's brother-in-law said he last saw deceased alive on Tuesday night. He was then In his usual health and spirits. He had recently been in 111-health and as a result had been unable to go to work. Witness had never heard deceased say anything about committing suicide, but deceased’s wife had told witness that at various times he had threatened to take his life. Witness had taken no notice of what he had heard, as tie had been of opinion that deceased was only joking. A verdict of suicide by gas poisoning was returned.
