TE AWAMUTU SALE. BEEF PRIOEB ADVANOE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercan(tile Agency Co., Ltd., Hamilton re--1 port on their tri-weekly Te Awamulu j stock sale held yesterday as follows: Cattle. —A usual number of medium quality fat cows and a few pens of ox beef comprised the bulk of the offering of fat cattle. Competition was keen for ox beef, a pen of six well finished light quality cattle, offered on behalf of Messrs FullertonSmith Bros.,' realising £4 11s each, and values were well in advance of this week’s Franklon quotations. Lata rates were fully maintained for cow beef. A pen of extra good quality yearling heifers sold on account of Mr J. Murtagh met with a very keen demand, being sold for £2 13s each. For others, the market showed an improving tendency. Although few dairy cows were offered, there was a keen interest displayed and satisfactory rates were realised for those sold. Medium quality close to profit, £4 15s to £6; others, £3 10s to £4 10s; light quality prime ox beef, £4 to £4 11s; prime fat cows, £3 7s 6d to £3 12s; ordinary sorts, £2 15s to £3 7s 6d; lighter, £2 2s 6d to £2 15s; light, £1 15s to £2; tillable, £1 10s to £1 15s; stores, 16s to £1 3s; others, 9s to 14s; extra good quality yearling heifers, £1 19s to £2 13s; poorer, £1 6s to £1 15s; Sheep.—The demand for a heavy offering of fat sheep, mostly lambs, was keen the whole yarding being sold at values appreciably higher than late quotations. We quote: Fat wethers, 10s 6d to 11s 9d; others, 9s 9d to 10s 6d; fat ewes, 6s to 6s 6d; lighter, 4s 7d to 5s 9d; very prime lambs, 17s 2d; prime lambs, 13s 6d to 15s Gd; fat lambs, 11s to 13s; lighter, 8s 6d to 10s Gd; forward lambs, 5s 6d to 7s 4d; stores, 4s lOd to 5s 3d. Pigs.—Competition for an average ' offering improved as the sale proceeded and the best values obtained were very firm on late Frankton quotations. We quote: Medium porkers, £1 to £1 ‘ 4s; lighter, 18s to £1; large stores, 12s to 16s; lighter, 9s to 11 s; weaners, 4s to 7s. J
