Five Decoys, One Duck. —An amusing story is told (says the Mataura Ensign) of a parly out after ducks, who in the darkness just before dawn saw a hatch of ducks Hying along the river swoop down and rest among some decoys. Although it was fairiy dark Ihe party considered Die mark a good one, and four tloublc-'barrelled guns belched Arc into Die spot. When dawn broke and an investigation was made it was found that the heads of five decoys had been broken, while one duel; lay dead.
