ADDINGTON MARKET. Entries were smaller than for many weeks in the principal sections at the Addington market. Fat stock prices generally showed an Improvement. Store Sheep.—There was a normal entry for this period. The sale In the lamb and adult sections'was very dragging and prices generally were down by Is a head, and, in some cases, by more. Values were:—Good rape lambs 7s to 8s sd, ordinary 4s to 6s, good ewe to 9s 3d, ordinary ewe 6s to 7s 6d, good 4, 6 and 8tooth wethers 9s to 12s, ordinary 5s 9d to Bs, small 2-tooth halfbred 5s to 7s 6d, merino to 6s Id, ordinary, 2-tooth threequarter-bred ewes to 12s, ordinary 4 and 6-tooth halfbred to 11s 6d, soynd-mouthed 7s to 9s, aged 2s to 3s. Fat Lambs. —The entry of 3800 was mostly of lightweights. The market was easier, schedule rates being barely maintained. Values were: —Extra prime lambs to 19s 7d, prime 16s to 17s 9d, medium 12s 6d to 15s 6d, light 10s to 12s, store 8s 6d to 9s 6d. Fat Sheep.—An entry of 3300 met with a good sale, with values generally firmer by up to Is per head. One freezing company monopolised this section of the buying. Fat Cattle. —There was an entry of 315 head. No North Island _ beef came forward. Tire sale was slightly freer, but values showed no quotable change. The present basis of values is lower than has ever been known at Addington. Best beef made to 23s 6d per 1001 b, good 18s to 21s 6d, ordinary 15s to 17s 6d and inferior from 14s down to 7s 6d. Values were: Extra prime heavy steers to £ll 2s Gd, prime heavy £7 10s to £9 10s, prime medium weight £5 10s to £7, ordinary quality £3 15s to £5, light to £3 10s, ext-ra prime heifers, lo £7 12s 6d, prime £5 to £6 10s, medium £3 to £4 10s, light £2 to £2 15s, extra prime cows to £9 2s 6d, prime £4 5s to £6, medium £2 10s to £4, light to £2. Fat Pigs.—There was a good entry of fat pigs, which sold at prices about on a par with those ruling last week. Values were:—Choppers 45s to £5 6s, baconers 35s 6d to 43s 6d, heavy baconers 47s 6d to 555, extra heavy baconers to £3 Is Gd, average price per lb 3id to 4d; porkers 23s to 26s 6d, heavy porkers 28s 6d to 33s 6d, average price per lb 4Ad to sd. TIRfIU STOCK SALE. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report having held their Tirau stock sale on Thursday, when they penned an average number of fat and store cattle, and a large number of dairy cows and heifers comprised mainly of the advertised line. Average yardings of sheep and pigs also came forward, late quotations being maintained. Quotations: Heavy fat bullocks, £4 17s to £5 4s; fat cows £2 8s to £2 11s, lighter fat £1 13s to £1 19s: other killable cows, 25s to 30s; store cows, 15s to 225; boner cows, 6s to 12s; well-done 18-months Shorthorn steers, 30s to 31s; Hereford bull, £2 10s; potter bulls, 30s to 365; store lambs, 6s 4d; forward ewes, 5s 2d; store ewes, 3s 2d; store pigs, 9s to 12s; slips, 5s 6d to Bs. The advertised lino of in-calf heifers on account of Mr T. Anderson was offered, and practically all were sold under the hammer. Although the quality was mixed a fair disposal resulted. SALE AT MATAMATA. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly stock sale at Matamata saleyards on the 18th instant, where a medium yarding of all classes of stock came forward. We sold heavy fat cows, £2 to £2 15s; lighter cows, £1 7s 6d to £1 18s; store and boner cows, 10s lo £1; potter bulls, £1 5s to £2; grade Jersey bulls, £4. CLEARING SALE AT HIKUTAIA. Tho Farmers’ Co-operalive Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report having held a clearing sale at Hikutaia yesterday on account of Mr L. A. Peterson. There was a good attendance and competition was good throughout.. The 72 sound cows offered realised an average of £6 8s Gd, the whole herd of 80 cows averaging £6 Os Gd.
