MOTORING ACCIDENTS.

LORRY CRASHES INTO POLE. , rF . THREE PERSONS INJURED. ,r - (Bj Telegraph.—Press Association.) THAMES, Sunday. A half-ton truck, driven by Air John Cassin, of Springdale, Waitoa, and with Aliss Paulsen, of Thames, and Mr James Werder, of Springdale, as passengers, crashed into a pole on the Thames Coast Road, to-day. Tlie vehicle was damaged extensively. Mr Werder received a fracture of the leg, and Miss Paulsen suffered a serious cut on the left arm. Air Cassin received a fracture of the nose.

TRUCK CRUSHES CAR. DRIVERS’ NARROW ESCAPES. AUCKLAND, Monday. A motor truck overturned and crushed a light two-seater car at New Lynn yesterday. The car driver, Mr L. AlcCarten, of Point Chevalier, escaped with a shaking, while the lorry driver, Air George Morse, of Henderson was unhurt. The car, which was in front, had stopped at the roadside. The truck driver swerved suddenly to avoid a collision, but the heavy vehicle, skidded and capsized, coming to rest partially on top of the car.

STRUCK BY CAR. FATAL RESULT OF ACCIDENT. AUCKLAND, Monday. The death occurred yesterday of Airs Alma Walker, aged 74, who was struck by a motor car as she was crossing New North Road, on Apri. 24.

MOTOR CYCLISTS INJURED. RESULT OF COLLISIONS. AUCKLAND, Monday. As a result of collisions during the week-end four motor-cyclists were injured. They are: — Reginald Lockie, aged 21, of Alount Eden, severe internal Injuries. Condition serious. Eric Midgley, aged 25, single, of Ponsonby, concussion. Condition fairly serious. James Pender, aged 23, single, of Green Lane, compound fracture of one leg and head Injuries. Not serious. Robert George Coulter, aged 33, married, of Whitford, fracture of the right leg and bruises. Not serious.
