KITCHEN EVENING
AT TE PUNINGA. An entertainment and kitchen evening in honour of Miss M. Hollard, whose marriage to Mr W. Carr takes place this month, was held in the Te Puninga Hall. The Hollard family were among the first, to settle in the district, and Miss Hollard and Mr •Carr havo taken an active part in all the social activities of Te Puninga. The dances of the evening were interspersed with songs by Mrs Wells, Miss Wilton, Messrs Spice, L. Marwood and F. Downing, and a recitation by Mr J. Darlington. Mrs Wells played the accompaniments. Music for dancing was played by Messrs ,1. Carr and W. Dakers. In an appropriate speech Mr L. Cubis offered the congratulations of tho gathering to Miss Hollard, and referred to her good work as secretary of the Rawhlti Tennis Club. Tho many packages were then opened, disclosing an array of kitchen requisites. Mr W. Carr responded on behalf of his fiancee. The gathering then sang “For They Are Jolly Good Fellows,” with great enthusiasm.
