LOCAL ELECTIONS.
COUNTY AND HARBOUR;! BOARD, PERSONS ENTITLED TO VOTE. In the fortcoming county counoll elections all ratepayers are-entitled to vote except those who owe rates farther back than March, 1930: With the Auckland Harbour Board the procedure is rather different. Hamilton, Cambridge,- -Te Awamqtu -and Ngaruawahia as combined 'boroughs return one member, the voting being on the parliamentary or municipal basis. In the case of the combined counties of Waikato, Waipa and Raglan which return one member, only residents in the counties who are ratepayers are entitled to vote, Whereas in the 'borough of Huhtly. and 'the town board area of Leamington, both of which are included in the combined counties area, the -rating .Is on the municipal-basis. This means ..that all persons in Huntly and Leamington who are over 21, have been three months resident in the town and 12 months resident In New Zealand, and who are British subjects, may vote.
