FRENCH ELECTIONS.
THE FIRST RESULTS.
* M. TARDIEU RE-ELECTED. A FIGHT AT IVRY. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received May 2, 2.10 p.m.) PARIS, May 1. The first election results hhow that M.M. Tardleu and Herriot have been re-elected by large majorities.. _ Others re-elected include Ministers of Justice and Commerce (M.M. Reynaud and Rollin), the ex-Premier M. Painleve), The Minister of Finance (J-. Flandin), the Socialist leader (Blum), the night leader (Marin) and the Socialist, M. Barthelmy who' surprisingly defeated the Communist Party’s deputy who has represented Saint Denis since 1920. ' M. Lorin deputy for Bordeaux, while awaiting the result, collapsed and died. ~ , Tbe election was quiet, the omy exciting incident was at the Ivry town Hall, where the staff were all munists. A group of Nationalists climbed to the roof and hoisted the Tricolour. A sharp fight followed and the police arrested 12 Communist clerks and porters.
