A RULE.
(Sent by “Rose of Tralee,” llinuera.) Cecil’s mother made a rule that if over he came in laic for a meal lie was not to speak while it was in progress. One day lie came in very late, and started lo ‘talk excitedly. ‘‘l say, mother,” he began. “Not a word,” said mother sternly, “tlnl. mother," he persisted. “Silence!” shouted father. Cecil waited until the meal was over, and then lie was asked what lie had lo say for himself. “dh, 1 only wanted lo tell you,” lie chuckled, “that baby's (tiling lather’s hoots with condensed milk.”
