At tho last meeting of the Hamilton High School Board two teachers were appointed to the staff for J 93*2, Miss Elizabeth Wilson, home science mistress, vice Miss Tizard, who was recently appointed headmistress of Wanganui Girls’ College and Miss Joyce Mawhine.v, part-time instructress in shorthand and typewriting. Miss Wilson look lire Bachelor of Home Science degree at Hie Otago University in 1!)28 and for tlac past, two years has* been doing advanced work for the Master of Home Science degree, fo complete which stie sat in November last. She has an excellent sellool and university record, and has high recommendations from Professor Strong, Dean of Hie Fa'culty of Home Science, Dunedin. Miss Mawhiney, who is at. present on the staff of I lie Palmerston North Technical School leaching shorthand and typewriting, holds a Pitman's speed shorthand certificate for 120 words a minute, and Pitman’s senior
shorthand typists’ certificate and a Pitman’s shorthand teacher’s diploma. Miss Wilson and Miss Mawlriney will take up their new dulics at. the High School on the re-opening nf the school in February.
