OBITUARY.

MRS ELEANOR ANN TIDD. Mrs Eleanor Ann Tidd, mother of Mr J. E. Tidd, of Hamilton, died recently at Auckland, at the age of 80 years. Born in Staffordshire, England, Mrs Tidd came to New Zealand as a girl with her parents in the ship Anno Wilson in 1803. The family settled in Auckland where in 1869 she married the late Mr Henry Tidd. Afte" visiting the Thames goldfields, Mrs Tidd farmed with her husband for some years in the Kaipara district, and then went into business in Hamilton, She was a staunch supporter of the Methodist Church both at Hamilton and Auckland, where she went to live with her daughter 35 years ago. Mrs Tidd is survived by two sons, Mr J. E. Tidd, of Hamilton, and Mr T. H. Tidd, of Rangirlri, and two daughters, Miss E. Tidd, of Auckland, and Airs P. Stelnert, of Auckland. HON. W. EARNSHAW. MEMBER LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. (By Telegraph.—Pross Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The death occurred this morning, after a short illness, of Hon. W. Earnshavv. William Earnshaw, who was born at Manchester in 1852, setllccl In Now Zealand in 1878, being engaged for some ycaes in the railway workshops at Addington and Dunedin. Ho was elected to Parliament for the Peninsula seat in 1890, and was member for City of Dunedin from 1893 to 1896. He was appointed to the Legislative Council in 1913. MRS CHARLOTTE BAKER. WHANGARET, Monday. The death has occurred of Mrs Charlotte Baker, aged 91 years. MRS F. M. CLARKE. TAURANGA, Monday. The death occurred yesterday of Mrs P.’M. Clarke, widow of Mr 11. P. Clarke. She Is survived hy three sons, including Mr Harold Clarke, inspector for the South British Insurance Company,- Hamilton.
