Mr H. R. Jenkins, formerly M.P. for Parnell, returned to Auckland yesterday from a visit to Britain and the United States. Mr A. Carson-Roberts, a London barrister, and an authority on local administration, finance, and legislation, arrived in Wellington by the Rangitane on a holiday visit to New Zealand and the South Sea Islands. The Rev. 11. Whitby James, of Tinui, Wairarapa, lias accepted the cure of St. Mary’s Church of England parish, Hawcra, in place of the Rev. J. R. Alison, M.L.C., has notified shareholders that he lias tendered his resignation as a director.
