NEW YORK TOPS LIST. LONDON COMES SECOND. What arc the world’s ten largest cities in order of population? The answer to this question is somewhat dependent upon another: Whicfli is the world’s largest city. New York or London? A recent statement by Dr. Joseph A. Hill, Acting Director of the United States -Census Bureau, makes New York the larger or tiie two, whether they are compared on the basis of population' density or of the number included within a twentymile radius of City Hall and Charing Cross, respectively, or of the population of London County and New York’s five boroughs. The population of "Greater London" was given by Dr. Hill as 8,202,818. Population Before War.
