MR GEORGE E. CLARK. 91ST BIRTHDAY TO-MORROW. Mr George E. Clark, of Cambridge, -to-morrow will/ celebrate his 91st birthday: •Mr Clark has never had a serious illness in his life,, and retains all his faculties and enjoys good health. He Is well known as the founder and h(?ad of. the firm of, Clark, and .Sons, of Cambridge, Hamilton, -arid Waharoa, -and still goes to business every ■day. Born In Cambridgeshire, England, In 1840, Mr Clark came to New Zealand In 1846 V and 'thr.ee,, years later -purchased a farm of 300 acres at Pukeroro for 30s an acre, a property that Is now one of;the finest parts of the Cambridge district. Mr Clark -subsequently increased his Holding to 600 acres, -and after he farmed this successfully for 27 years, he established his business in Cambridge. . Mr Clark, has always been a keen agriculturalist, and wa's .Organiser -of the original Waikato Farmers' Club He was a merriber of the Waikato Coiinty Couricil for -six years Of the'Cambridge Road Board for several years, of the Cambridge Borough Council, arid Is an active member of the Waikato Central Agricultural and Pastoral Association. Mr Clark is a non-smoker and abstainer from liquor, and attributes 'his ■ longevity to an active life and moderation In all .things. Mrs Clark died in 1913. The children are Mesdames A. W. Gane and A R. Cox (Cambridge), and Messrs W E Clark, H. H. Clark (Hamilton),- G A. Clark drid A. R. Clark (Cambridge).
