NEW ZEALAND OVER-GOVERNED. VIEWS OF SHEEP-OWNERS. CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. “ W’e are over-governed and should have a reduction in the number of members of Parliament," declared Mr D. W. Wcstenra al the annual meeting of the Canterbury Sheepowners' Union, when State economy measures were being discussed. Mr Wcstenra said that if England had the same ratio of representation as there was in New Zealand she would have a Parliament of about 2300. The newly-elected president, Mr E. Hay, said it was absurd that such a small country as New Zealand should have 80 members of Parliament. A resolution urging a reduction in the number was carried unanimously. THE AUCKLAND ELECTORATES. INCREASE IN VOTERS. AUCKLAND, Friday. The main Parliamentary electoral rolls for the nine Auckland electorates show an increase of 5236 compared with the main rolls used during the general election in 1928, the total names included this year being 110.400 compared with 105.164 three years NATIONAL GOVERNMENT.
