A new draw, rendered necessary through the unfortunate omission of Miss Alice Marble (San Francisco) yesterday, was held to-day in the women’s national tennis championships It places Mrs Wills-Moody and Miss Mitchell in different halves. Mbs Mudford is given Miss Nuthall’s position In the lower half of the upper draw with Mrs Wills-Moody at the top. Miss Jacobs heads the lower half of the draw with Miss Nuthall at the bottom. In the Rye tennis tournament the semi-finals to-day resulted:— Mrs Pitman defeated Miss Sarah Palfrey, 6—3, 6—o. Miss Ridley defeated Mrs Jessup, 6—2, 6—2. This means that the final will be between English representatives. In the men’s singles Hughes England) defeated Coen, 4—6, 6—4, 6—3; Perry (England) defeated Bryan Grant, junior, 5—7, B—6, B—6.
