The musical instrument trade in ; Wellington is protesting against the ! proposed new city by-law prohibiting the playing of -musical instruments. I radio, gramophones, etc., in business i places. i A meeting of the Advisory Commili tee of the New Zealand Musical Trades’ 1 Association expressed the view that j the proposed by-law was not only interference witli legitimate business ; and in restraint of trade, but quite | unreasonable in that it was a by-law 1 against noise, yet only attacked ! musical instruments played either ; privately or publicly, and made pro- | vision for a permit or license which. ; if granted to one. must he granted to all. j A deputation will inters lew -the 1 City Council.
