HOSPITAL TREATMENT.
FRIENDLY SOCIETY PATIENTS. ARRANGEMENT WITH BOARD. The following arrangement for the treatment of friendly society members at the Waikato Hospital was confirmed by the Waikato Hospital Board to-day:— Specialists’ charges for operations or consultations, flat rate, 10s 6d per treatment.
X-ray charges, flat rate of 10s 6d for outdoor patients. Massage charges, 2s 6d for the first treatment and Is for each additional treatment thereafter. Ambulance, half rates. Patients in Government institutions, half rates. Friendly Societies’ liability to be limited to a period of 30 weeks’ continuous treatment for any one Illness. Patients requiring special treatment (radium treatment, etc.). In the Auckland Hospital or in other institutions under the control of other hospital boards, 4s 6d per day for adults and 2s 3d per day for children under 16 years of age, Friendly Societies to undertake to endeavour to collect from the member responsible the difference between the amount paid by the society and half the actual cost of the fees and charges.
