I The following report covering the month's operations, was submitted by the engineer to the monthly meeting of the Central Electric Power j Board, yesterday:— : In spite of the condition of Rotonl garo Road good progress Ils being made with the 1 1,000 volt extension. A 1 E.H.T. poles (excepting four) have been erected, and wiring is well ad- ; vanced, the L.T. being completed and , about one-third of the E.H.T. done. If the" weather keeps reasonably good, ■ the job should be completed in a week or 10 days from date. The Installing of consumers' Installations is being arranged at present, and should be completed about the same time as the ! energy is available for supply. In 1 conduction with the 11,000 volt extension at Churchill to supply Mr C. Jackson, the river crossing has now been completed and the line livened up. The cottages, house and both sheds have been wired and are connected.

The poling on the 3000-volt extension at Rotokaurl has been completed, and wiring will now be proceeded with. Prices are being asked for the consumers' installations, and this work should be completed by the time energy is available. The 11,000 volt extension at Komakorau: Mr White having made satisfactory arrangements, this extension is being proceeded with, the poles having been laid out. Proposed Extension at Rototuna. Messrs Knight and Grice having signed up for milking motors, water heaters and lighting, and Mr Haynes for lighting, it is proposed to extend tlie 11,000 volt line along the Gordonton Road for about threequarters of a mile and. erect transformer. Mr T. Gera, about threequarters of a mile down side road, has also signed up and guaranteed £3O per annum. He will also he supplied from this transformer.—Application for extension of lines at Huntly West: A group of consumers on Huntly West —Ohlnewal Road have applied for power and lighting. About £6B revenue Is required to return the necessary 16 2-3 per cent., and It

seems likely that this revenue will be forthcoming. The chairman, Mr Smith and I met these consumers on July 24, and approximately the above mentioned amount seemed In sight. These consumers will be asked to sign guarantees. L.T. extension to supply Messrs Comlns and Banks. Tamahere: It will be remembered that, to supply these consumers, It was proposed to cross Mrs Lowndes’ property, but Mrs Lowndes, who saw the chairman, secretary and myself, intimated that she was prepared to pay £55 towards the additional cost of ’taking the line around the road rather than have it go across her propetry. After considerable discussion, it was agreed to accede to her request. By this arrangement, these consumers can be economically supplied and equivalent service given. Besides the extensions specially mentioned, several L.T. extensions have been arranged for in different parts of the district. Including a half mile to supply Mr Dent, Te Kowhai, and for this reason the Board's pole and transformer stocks have been depleted.
