UNEMPLOYMENT COMMITTEE. The local Unemployment Committee has received the following communication from the Unemployment Com-mlssoners:-—“As the period of the year is now approaching when seasonal labour is customarily engaged it is desired to guard against the possibility of farmers putting workers who are employed under scheme 4a on to work of a seasonal character, and thus avoiding the employment of labour which they would otherwise engage. It. was for this reason that it was decided early last month that no further engagements should be made extending beyond August 31.” The secretary’s estimate for the week ending August 22 was approved at £192. The Tauranga Roll. The general roll of persons entitled to vote at the next parliamentary election for the electoral district of Tauranga contains 8813 names. The Brookfield Hall.
