CLEARING SALE. AT TE AWAMUTU. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report on the clearing sale held at Te Awimutu yards yesterday on account nf Mr H. B. Potter, of Pukeatua: There was only a fair attendance of buyers but those operating were keen to fill their demands, which were mainly for the good quality close to profit cows. The herd all round was only of average quality, and a number were late calvers and a little poor in condition, but for all classes a very good sale was effected. The demand was maintained throughout, and with the exception of three unsound cows the whole offering of 88 were disposed of under the hammer. We quote: Best quality cows, close to profit £lO 10s to £l2 ss; later calvers made from £8 15s to £lO ss; more backward £7 to £8 10s; late calvers. £4 15s to £6 10s; poor conditioned, £4 to £4 15s. DAIRY SALE AT FRANKTON. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report on the dairy sale held at Frankton yards yesterday as follows: — About the usual number of dairy cows, consisting of fairly good to late calvers, was offered to the usual attendance of buyers. The demand remained firm for the early calvers. while, a number of late ones were passed. Good cows close to profit made from £6 10s to £7 ss; later do., £5 5s to £6 ss; late, £4 10s to £5; others up to £3 15s. HIKUTAIA STOCK SALE. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report: At the Hlkutaia sale we penned a good yarding of pigs and dairy cattle and a medium yarding of beef. There was good competition on well-forward dairy heifers, late rates being maintained on all other classes. Quotations:—
Pigs.—Porkers, light £1 13s 6d to £i 19s 6d; store pigs. £1 7s to £1 Ils 6d; slips, 19s to £1 ss; weaners, 10s to 16s. Dairies.—Jersey heifers, well forward £7 to £9 12s 6d, more backward £3 10s to £6 7s 6d; Shorthorn heifers, £7 2s 6d to £7 15s; dairy cows, springing £5 to £6 15s, more backward sorts £2 15s to £4 10s. Sheep.—Fat wethers, to £1 3s; store wethers, to 13s. Cattle. —Fat. cows, medium £4 19s. light £2 15s tn £4 7s 6d: fresh store cows, £1 4s to £1 18s; boners. 10s to £1 is
