LOCAL OBSERVATIONS. Miss Budd, of Balfour, M. Irvine and Webster, Ltd., supplies the following observations of the weather: — Barometer. Thursday .... 29.40 Friday 29.45 Theromometer. Max. Min. Wednesday 58.0 48 0 Thursday 52.0 43.0 Barometer steady at 29.45. Indications are for continued unsettled weather to-day and possibly to-morrow,- fair at intervals, heavy showers; winds mostly from a northerly direction, lower temperature; 0.45 points of rain fell during the previous 24 hours. Mean temperature, 47.5 deg. The Weather Bureau wires: The indications for 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day are for westerly winds, strong to gale, gradually backing by west to south. The weather will probably prove squally and changeable, with colder weather. Barometer rising slowly.
