TRICK FLYING.
AIR PILOT FINED. LOOPING 'OVER HAMILTON. A plea of guilty was entered byRobert Raymond .Money, air pilot, at the Hamilton Court to-day, to a charge of trick Hying over the town of Hamilton. Senior-Sergeant Sweeney said that on a recent Saturday afternoon Money performed a number of evolutions, including looping the loop over tiie town. He seemed to he flying at a good height at the time. .Mr W. J. King, for defendant, said Money was a skilled pilot, but he was under the misapprehension that he could do trick flying anywhere so long as lie was at least 2,000 feet up. On this occasion he was flying at an altitude of 2.800 feel. There was Ihc additional fact that a high westerly wind was Plowing at the limn, and had anything gone wrong with the engine while over Hie town Hie wind was sulDriently strong to have enabled him to land six miles beyond llie town. The Magistrate. Mr Wyvern Wilson, pointed out that most accidents in New Zealand had occurred. not through engine trouble, lull through damaged wings. However, lie would accept defend; nil's explanation and tine him only 40s. lie must understand, however, that Iriek flying was absolutely prohibited over towns or populated areaa*.
