WAIKATO ASSOCIATION. RETURN MATCH WITH AUCKLAND. HOOPER CUP SERIES. ■ At the fortnightly meeting of the Waikato Hockey Association last night "the president, Mr W. G. Fabling, pre- . .sided over a full attendance of delegates. The date offered by the Auckland ' Hockey Association of August 15 for • the return match with Waikato, at Auckland, was accepted. Regarding the suggested match between Waikato juniors and the Auckland third-grade representatives, the junior selectors were requested to report as to whether they could get a ' Waikato team to travel. A letter was received from the New Zealand Hockey Association congratulating the Waikato team on the high standard of play in the recent match with Canterbury for the Hockey , Challenge Shield. The Waipa Association asked for a match at Hamilton with the local representatives on Wednesday, August 6, and for a return fixture at Te Awamutu later in the season, 'before the Waipa team leaves lor the South in quest of the Norden Cup, at present ■ held by Manawatu. It was decided to suggest to Waipa that the first game be played on August G, as requested, and that the second match be staged at Te Awamutu on August 26. If these dates were not acceptable to Waipa, the Hamilton team would travel to Te Awamutu . on any Wednesday, but in such case ■ the match at Hamilton would have io be abandoned. Fixtures for Saturday. 1 On Saturday, at Steele Park, the first games of the round to decide which club is to meet High School for the Hooper Cup will be played. This is a knock-out round, and only : three games will he played. In the ’ junior competition the final games of . the second round will be staged.
