MUNGANA LEASES,
JURORS’ FEES INCREASED. POSITION OF MR REID. DISMISSAL FROM CASE REFUSED. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. BRISBANE, July 27. When the hearing of the Mungana case was resumed to-day the jurors applied for and received an increase in their daily fees by 33s 6d, which was ordered to be paid by defendants. There was a further development when the application was renewed by counsel to have Mr F. Reid dismissed from the case on the ground that he is a bankrupt. It is understood that much of the evidence against him would consequently not be admissible against Messrs E. G. Theodore, W. McCormack and P. L. Goddard. Chief Justice Blair refused at this juncture to dismiss Reid, but reserved his decision on the point.
