Spot market quiet but steady at about last quotations. Not much interest shown for shipment. Fruit: Stored apples moving. Sturmer 11s to 12s, Dougherty, Rokewood Statesman 11s to 14s. Earlier arrivals not stored, now mainly conlined to Sturmer, selling at 9s 6d to Us. “Zealandlc” Otago apples In good condition, but other Otago difficult to sell owing to poor condition. Hemp: Manila market dull and easy. “K” grade for August-October shipment sold at £l6. Sisal: Market easier. Good marks No. 1 alloat and July-September shipment sold down to £ls 5s and fair average quality £ls. Distant shipments quoted 10s more. New Zealand: No interest shown. Nominal value for July-Septembcr shipment on the basis of highpoints, £lB 10s. Wool: Sales closed on July 22. Good selection of Merino and crossbred catalogued and competition active throughout. Values evidently attractive, closing at best. Fine crossbred slightly improved, finishing about level with May rates. Compared with closing rates last series. Merino:
