BABY ABANDONED.
FOUND IN EMPTY HOUSE. (Dy Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. "When looking through an unoccupied house in Cashel Street 'yesterday afternoon a woman was shocked to find the apparently lifeless body of a female infant lying on the floor. The police were summoned and also a doctor. The latter said the child was alive, but resuscitation had to be carried on for an hour and a-half.
The child is now in the hospital and is progressing favourably. The police have no clue as to the identity of the mother.
