DEBATING ACTIVITIES
ST. MARY'S CLUB. Departing from Hie usual procedure -the third meeting of ttie St. Mary's Debating Club was devoted to readings and impromptu speeches. Mr P. R. Cuming presided over a failattendance.
Readings of a highly interesting nature were given by Rev. Brother Clemens and Mr E. A. Cox. The impromptu speeches, which covered a wide range of subjects, were an innovation to the majority of members, but in most cases lit tic difilculty was experienced in speaking for the live minutes allotted. The subject for the club's next debate will be, “That Catholic Action is Necessary at ttie Present Time.
