SOUTH AFRICAN PLAYERS. Several prominent Springboks who played against the All Blacks in 1923 are certain to travel willi the South African team that will tour Britain. Bennie Osier is as good as ever, playing with the brilliance that made him the most feared man during the tour of the All Blacks. He is a strong . candidate .for' the captaincy of the j South African side. Gerry Brand, i Tindall, and ,T. C. van der West- I huizen are also showing their best | form. Pierre de Villiers is consid- j ered a certainty for the tour; the in- | comparable little scrum half is exhibit- j ing all his old genius. Oif the splendid pack of forwards which blazed its way through the : various provinces last season nearly all arc in harness again. T. and G. Osier, Wolheim, Louw, Pu Toil, Wood and Van Wyk are all b»t candidates . for the national side, and it Is inter- | esting to note that the veteran, Phil | Moslcrt, is slill in the game, and it is i quite on the cards that, with the vast ! store of experience which he has ac- j cumulated over a long and brilliant > career, he will lie a keen rival to Ben- ! nic Osier for t ho captainccy of the j overseas tour.
