The cricket match between Ihe New Zealand tourists and the Minor Counties was continued at Gainsborough to-day. The home team, who the previous day had lost seven wickets for 169, resumed batting and when the last wicket fell had a score ,of 19J. Fuccossful Aucklander.

The tourists declared their innings closed with 361 runs to their credit for the loss of eight wickets. Mills contributed 150. The Counties, when stumps were drawn, had soared 14 runs with all wickets intact. Merritt was dismissed after lunch. Mills carried on to score a brilliant century. He attacked the bowling from the start and although he gave several chances, was always master of the attack. He went out off the only really weak shot of jiis innings, lie batted 218 minutes for his 150 and hit seven fours.

Kerr showed signs of return to his customary enterprising batting.

Lowry and Talbot both gave vigorous displays. The Minor Counties’ bowling was not difficult, although iiic wicket played occasional tricks. THE NEXT MATCH. The New Zealand tourists have one more match to play before the test match against England at Lord's on June 27, 29 and 30.
