O’Halloran playing fullback for Hamilton played a very safe game and is gradually returning to his true form. Hynes, Stubbings and Astle in the three-quarter line proved a very sound trio. Jack Hynes is a sticker to the game and is playing better football than ever. He is a deadly tackier. Astle on ttie other wing played a much Improved game, his tackling and handling of the ball being excellent, He had more opportunities and proved his worth. S. Muir and K. Graham, liveeighths, both played sound games and tackled well, making several good openings for their outside men. Crewther, a new member of the team, plavlng at half, was very good. A most deadly tackier, he kno.ws when to pass the ball to his backs. He will be hard to keep out of the South Auckland representatives. The forwards played as one man, their following up being really good. They gave the backs more than their share of the ball. Ghell as hooker is improving with every game and is a voung player who is within representative standard. Hogan Is also at the top of his form and is playing great football. Pansy and Boyle worked very hard and can always he relied upon. Paget and Sutherland, the latter playing his first game for five years, both played good games and helped to form a very solid pack. Of the Ngaruawahia team, Abbot at fullback, was a young player who a sound game and should go far if he maintains his form. .Kelly, Wilson and Ormsby, in the, threequarter line were a fine trio, Kelly and Ormsby being hard to bring down. Tittle ton and Hall at five-eighths both played well. The latter never had many chances but Tiltleton cut through on several occasions and took some watching. Abbot at half played
