Mr Douglas Hay, of Hamilton, was a guest at the Auckland Rotary Club’s luncheon yesterday. Mr Douglas Taylor, Supervisor of Music in Schools, announced to-day that he has resigned and is proceeding abroad. The resignation of Miss I. Duff from the position of commercial instructor at the Hamilton Technical High School on the occasion of her approaching marriage was accepted with regret al the Board of Managers’ meeting lasi night. Appreciation was voiced at the active manner in which Miss Duff had participated in the life of the school. Mr Albert G. Hollingworth has (says a Sydney cable message) been appointed general manager of the Australian Mutual Provident Society, in succession to Mr K. T. Bridges, who lias reached the retiring ago. Mr llnllingworth has been with this society since 18811. The Rev. Solomon Katz, of New Rochelle. New York, has been secured for the position of rabbi of Wellington in succession to the late Rev.
