THE RAILWAY BOARD.
Mr Forbes has sprung another surprise in his selection of the Railways Board. While others were in a quandary as to where suitable and fully qualified men could be found for the positions the Premier in his characteristic manner quietly formed a board consisting of what is probably the best material available in the Dominion. As constituted it is one in which the people and the Government can have every confidence, and if rehabilitation of the railways is possible it is now' in the hands of those best qualified to achieve it. It is to be noted too, that Mr Forbes once again places his country before party. Appointment to the board has not come as a reward for political services, but as a recognition of capability for the duties involved.
