MYSTERIOUS EXPLOSION.
INCIDENT AT WELLINGTON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sunday. With a deafening explosion which startled people in the vicinity, a charge a gelignite shattered the door of Mr H. J. Freeman’s jewellery shop at 13, Manners Street, early on Saturday evening. Mystery surrounds the incident. Examination of the door showed that Llie gelignite had been ignited by a quick time-fuse. The wooden door was completely shattered. Apart from this and minor breakages insido tho shop the explosion did no serious damage.
None of tho jewellery in stock was removed.
