Mr Frank Auld has been appointed registrar of marriages, births and deaths at Iluntly. Mr Cyril Towsey, of Auckland, has been visiting Cambridge on account of the illness of his father Mr Arthur Towsey. Mr J. A. Shand, of Wellington, who is associated with 'the United Party's organisation, was in Hamilton yesterday. Mr H. Baker, manager of the Hamilton North branch of the Bank of New Zealand, returned last night from a holiday in the north. Mr S. D. Munn, statlonmasler at Cambridge, left to-day for his annual vacation. Ho is being relieved by Mr S. B. Brcsnaham. Messrs It. A. Shirley, F. G. Fraser, J. F. MacKley, J. A. Noakcs, J. J. Morrish, formerly postmaster at Whangarel, and who was severely injured in an aeroplane crash in England recently, is now well on the road to recovery. Lord Stonehaven, formerly Gover-nor-General of Australia, has been appointed a director of the Union Bank of Australia, Limited, according to advice received by the hank’s inspector in Wellington. .Mr Arthur Blacklock, manager of Ross and Glendining, Ltd., who is retiring after 40 years’ service, was accorded a scnd-oIT at the Commercial Travellers ’ Club, Wellington last week.
