AUCKLAND COMPETITIONS. Fine weather favoured the riders, when 17 faced the starter to decide the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club’9 i6i-mtle raoe. Competitors were required to cover five laps of the circuit. The following were the results: —S. B. Stooken, 8.30, 1; 11. E. Enderby, 8.30, 2; G. Jeeves, 4.0, 3; M. A. Johnson, 7.0, 4. Time of race, 52.50. The Manukau Amateur Cycling Club’s junior and senior road race ß attracted big fields, i The. juniors finished as follows: E. 0. Potter, 3.0, riding time 16.12, t; p. H. Bicknell, 3.30, 16.44, 2; R. Campbell, 3.30, 16.45, 3; R. Lyall,
4.15, 17.37, 4. J. 11. McLachlan (sor) defeated H. Y. Gordon iscrj by a length in their final sprint for time honours. ‘'Mac’s” time was 14.39. The placed seniors were: Ron. G. Foubister, scr, riding time, 33.58, 1 } Frank J. Casey, 2.30, 36.28 1-5, 2; G, Jones, 4.0, 38,5, 3; S. J. Baird, 2.30, 36.36, 4; Ken. Spragg, 3.30, 37.37, 5{ Iv. N. Clark, 5.15, 39.37, 6. Foubistor’s time of 33.58 was easily thq fastest recorded. Casey's time of 36.28 1-5 was the next best. Cleave? took 37.55. The weekly road race under thtf auspices of the Auckland Club resulted : J. H. Wade, scr, 1; K. Rae, 4.0, 2; F. Lowndes, 6.0, 3; L. Tomkins, 8.0, 4. Fastest time was registered by Jack Wade, scr, in 57.0—a record for the course. The dlstanca was 20i miles.
