STANDARDISED CHEESE.
ITS PROHIBITION URGED.
BY SOUTH ISLAND ASSOCIATION. /Bv Telegraph.—Press Association.) ' DUNEDIN, Friday. A meeting of the South Island Dairy Association passed a resolution that the export of standardised cheese be absolutely prohibited. A remit from Edendale that the conference has no confidence in the present administration of the dairy division of 'the Department of Agriculture was lost. The mover stated that the output of finest cheese had dropped from 55 per cent. In 1927 to 17 per cent. now. Auckland had dropped from 45 per cent, to 16 per cent., New Plymouth from 53 to 13, Patea from 46 to 5, Wanganui from 54 to 23; Wellington from 61 to 27, Lyttelton from 68 to 29, Dunedin from 78 to 68, and Bluff from 69 to 60. New Zealand was suffering from a desperate disease, and something should be done to overcome It.
