STOCK SALE. AT FRANKTON YARDS. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company. Ltd.,, report: At the weekly stock sale in the Frankton vards on Tuesday, we had a small yarding of both ox and cow beef, and a medium yarding of store cattle. Owing to the short market, prices for cow and heifer beef were considerably firmer. There w**s a large yarding of fat sheep, and these changed hands at last week’s quotations. A small yarding of store sheep met with dull competition. A good yarding of dairy cattle carnc forward and sold at late rates. Pigs were yarded in average numbers, prices remaining on a . par with last week’s quotations. We quote:— Light heifers, to £3 10s; fat cows. £5 5s to £0; forward-conditioned cows, £2 to £2 12s fid; boner cows, 27s to 355; bulls, £4: dairy cows, from £6 to £7 ss; in-calf heifers, from £5 to £6. Medium fat wethers to 13s, light 11s 7d to 11s lOd; medium fat ewes, 6s to 8s lid; light fat lambs, 8s fid to 9s fid; five-year-old breeding ewes, 3s to 6s 3d. Pigs.—Heavy baconers £3 5s to £3 9s,•medium £2 18s to £3 2s. light £2 10s to £2 15s; heavy porkers £2 to £2 fis, light 28s to 355; stores, 18s to 245: weaners. 9s to 13s; sows in pig, £3 10s to £4; sows with litters, £4 10s. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., I’epor.t having held their usual weekly stock sale on Tuesday, June 2, as under:— Fat Sheep.—A fairly large yarding, which met with fair competition at last week’s rates. Extra prime heavy wethers sold at up to 15s; prime fat wethers, 13s to 13s Ud; inferior quality aethers, 10s fid to 11s 3d; prime heavy fat ewes, to 10s lOd; ordinary fat ewes, 8s to 9s 3d; inferior forward ewes, 6s to 7s 3d; prime woolly fat lambs, 11s to 15s; light, 9s 6d to 10s 9d.

Store Sheep,;—There was a good yarding and prices generally were better than last week; We yarded nearly 2000 store sheep and nearly all changed hands at the following rates:—2oo tvvo-_tooth ewes (empty), 7s fid; 189 two-tooth empty ewes, 7s 6d; 126, 7s 3d; 315 two and fourtooth wethers, 8s; 279 small twotooth. wethers, fis 9d; 42 two-tooth empty ewes, 5s 6d; white-faced store lambs, fis to 7s 3d; black-faced cross lambs, fis fid. A line of woolly ewe lambs was passed at 8s 9d. Fat Cattle.—A very small yarding, and prices for fat cows and heifers took a sharp rise on late values. Bullocks were slightly better than last week. Prime ox sold at up to 23s per 1001 b. Young cows and heifers sold at equal to £4 17s; boner cows at late rates. Only a few store cattle yarded. Dairy cattle were yarded in good numbers. . Prices were on a par with late rates. Pigs.—-An average yarding of all classes of pigs. Prices were slightly easier .than last week for fat pigs, while store pigs were in keen demand, and prices were very llrm. We quote; —Prime heavy baconers, £3 10s; heavy baconers, £3 3s; light baconers, £2.10s to £3; £2 8s; medium, £1 15s to £2; light, 28s to £1 14s; large stores to 255; medium stores, 17s ’to 19s; small stores, 15s and 16s; weaners, to 12s.

ADDINGTON MARKET. Entries' In all the major sections at the Addington stock sale were smaller than for some time. The market was noteworthy for an advance in the values for fat sheep. There was a very«keen sale for fat lambs with a strong export demand. Store Sheep.—A small entry, with late prices maintained. Extra good sound-mouthed halfbred ewes realised up to 13s 2d, others 8s to 9s sd, ordinary four and six-tooth halfbred ewes to 10s 9d, extra good four and sixtooth halfbred wethers to 14s 3d, good two-tooth wethers to 12s 4d, crossbred ewe lambs to 10s 7d, good wether lambs (shorn) to 9s. 1 Fat Lambs.—-An entry of 2100 head. Values were again firmer. Export buyers operated keenly throughout for all classes, and Gd per lb was paid for best iambs. Extra prime lambs realised up to 22s 7d, prime 18s Gd to 20s Gd, medium IGs Gd to 18s 3d, light 13s Gd to 16s 3d. Fat Sheep.—The entry was 4800 head. The general'quality was very good, arid there was a sharp advance in wether values, amounting to Is 6d a head. Ewes also improved up to Is a head for all classes. Extra prime wethers made up to 20s lOd, prime 16s to ISs Gd, medium 14s to 15s 9d, light 10s 7d to 1.3 s Gd, extra prime ewes to lGs lOd, prime 13s to 14s Gd, medium 10s 9d to 12s Gd, light 9s to 10s Gd.

Fat Cattle. —A fairly steady sale with no alteration in values. Palmerston North steers averaged £l2 17s Gd and Gisborne cows and heifers £8 2s Gd. The best beef made from 29s to 32s per 1001 b. heavy steer beef 28s to 30s, good prime beef 24s to 27s Gd, ordinary to 235, best heifer beef to 30s, good cow beef to 235, ordinary 15s to 18s. Extra prime heavy steers realised up to £ls 7s Gd, prime £il to £l3 10s, medium weight £8 10s to £lO 10s,. ordinary £7 to £S ss, iight •O' £6 10s. extra prime heifers to £lO 7s gd, prime £0 15? lo £8 15s, medium £4 10s to £6 10s, light to £4, extra prime cows to £lO 17s Gd. prime £0 to £8 10s, medium £4 to £G. Fat Pigs.—Choppers made 50s to £5 13s 6d, baconers 47s Gd to 555, heavy baconers lo £3 2s Gd (average price per lb 4d to sd); porkers 30s lo 355, heavy porkers 37s Gd to 45s Gd (average price per lb 5d to 64d).
