CHARGE OF DRUNKENNESS
FRUIT VENDOR FINED £6. Special to Times.) OTOROHANGA, Wednesday. An Itinerant fruit vendor, with headouarters at Hamilton, was arrested for drunkenness on Monday evening as a result of a telephone ring from a district settler, who stated that a man with a fruit truck was driving in an erratic manner along the main highway. On the following morniiig he was oharged with the offence, and convicted and fined £5, with costs. The Bench did not interfere with defendant's license to drive a motor vehicle, as he pleaded that his living would be gone were he thus punished.
