SOCIAL NOTES.
Miss Elsie Simmons of Tauranga who has been the guest of Mrs C. Skernan in To Awamutu is now staying with Miss Mena Ward in Hamilton. Miss Alison Bell returned to Hamilton to-day from a short visit to Auckland where she was the guest of Miss Shirley Medhurst. INTERESTING ENGAGEMENT. An engagement of interest has been announced between Mr H. W. Austin, the well-known tennis player, and Miss Phyllis Konstam, a young actress. Miss Konstam played the part of Sadie in “Compromising Daphne,” which was screened in Hamilton last week. An engagement is announced between Margaret', daughter of Mr William Kidston, Cashmere Hills, Christchurch, and Mr Arthur L. Armstrong, Assistant Secretary, Native Affairs, Suva. An engagement is announced between Kathleen, daughter of Mr A. J. and Dr. Woodward Horsley, Symonds Street, and Dr. Selwyn Bentham Morris, youngest son of Mr and Mrs P. B. Morris, Waiata Avenue, Remuera.
