CLEARING SALE.
Messrs. G. W. Vercoe and Co. Ltd., report having held a successful clearing sale on account of Mr J. W. Chapman, of Gordonton, on Monday. The cows came forward in first-class condition and bidding was very brisk, the herd averaging £7 3s. Good quality Jersey and Jersey cross cows '(early calvers) £9 to .£lO ss; good quality Jersey and Jersey cross cows (more backward) £-6 15s to £7 10s; Shorthorn and Holstein cows (early calvers) £ : 6 15s to £8 ss; (more backward) £6 to £6 10s; poorer quality cows £3 to £4 15s. The breeding cows sold from £3 10s to £'s ss.
