When the Union Company's steamer Katoa which ‘has arrived at Newcastle from Auckland was 200 miles off the New South Wales coast, a small cutter manned by two Swedes was sighted. The Katoa hove to, and the men stated they had left Gothenburg two years ago on a world cruise. The little craft had sailed from the New Hebrides 25 days previously.
