LONG-DISTANCE FLYING.
MR MOLLISON’S PROJECT. / HOPS OFF FOR ENGLAND. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright. SYDNEY, June 2. Mr J. A. Mollison, an Australian Airways pilot, began a flight to England to-day. He headed for Derby, in North. West Australia. Mr Mollison hopes to reach London in seven days, to remain in England for one week, and to return to Australia. On the return flight he will attempt to Improve upon the existing record made by Flying-Officer Scott.

Ash has -abandoned his attempt- to fly across tho Pacific, as he is convinced that it is impracticable. He had a narrow escape from disaster when his aeroplane refused to lift the necessary heavy load of fuel.
