THE TIMBER INDUSTRY.
NEW LEAGUE FORMED. TAIJMARUNUI, Tuesday. At a largely-attended meeting of men interested in the limber industry it was decided Mo form a league in Taumarunui known as the New Zealand .Timber Protection League. The meeting decided lo draw up a petition for presentation to Parliament urging the prohibition of importalions of foreign timber. 11 was decided also t o endeavour to make the league representative of Dominion interests, and to allow members of the Timber Workers’ Trade Protection League to join.
