THE KING.

WHO IS HE?.

HIS THRONE —WHENCE IS IT? (By Su-Cram.) The anniversary of the natal day of the beloved monarch who occupies the throne of the greatest Empire this world has ever known would appear to be an appropriate date to make some remarks in connection with die questions asked abovev possibly the better course will be to attempt to answer the second question first and, in order to do this, it must be stated that the woid “throne” is intended, in this instance at least, to mean the kingdom, or the British Empire itself. The question •then resolves itself into the querj, what is the origin of the British Empire seeing that it is not the successor of any previous Empire?

Promises to Abraham. The reply must be sought and will be found in the Book that contains the history of the Earliest Ages and, on reference' to that Book, we find recorded therein certain promises made to an individual named Abram (whose name was subsequently changed to Abraham) : “Get thee out of the country and from thy kindred and from thy father’s house into a land that I will show thee and I will make thee a great nation and make thy name ‘great’ . . and in thee shall all the families of the Earth be blessed." . At a later date this promise was confirmed to Abraham’s grandson who was also informed “a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee. As a matter of fact, Abraham followed the directions given and the History Book referred to relates the subsequent development of events that led up to the actual formation of the promised land and its punishment which latter was to last for a period of years and ended about the beginning of the 18th century—the commencement of an important era in the development of the British Empire. In the same History Book there is a record of a wonderful dream experienced by the then King of Babylon (Nebuchadnezzar), the interpretation of which is also furnished, Four of the kingdoms referred to, Babylonian, Medo-Persian, Grecian and Roman, have each had their day as world powers and the statements regarding them have since become wellknown facts of history. But what about the'.other kingdom mentioned at the same time? “In the days of these kings (kingdoms), shall the God of Heaven set) up a Kingdom (an original kingdom), which shall never be •destroyed and the kingdom shall not be left to other people (no successor) but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms and it shall *tand for ever.” ■ The Stone Kingdom.

In this connection the Rev. W. Pascoe Goard, of London, writes: “In Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome the pageant of Empires has passed before us- In Britain, from 600 8.G., the long-continued Stone Kingdom has been established in these Islands, while the people who form the basis of that Kingdom, have been in part resident here from the beginning and' in part were moving, as circumstances and their own enterprise led them, in Asia and Europe, finally to land in succeeding waves in the British Isles." (The last wave that thus broke on the shores of Britain being that of the Northmen (Normans) in 1066 A.D.) It is, important- to note that the two Kingdoms,, Babylon and the Stone Kingdom, were established at the 1 same period of history. They, have functioned side by side throughout the two thousand five hundred and twenty years of tiie seven times; and the Stone Kingdom -miraculously survives all the Empires, as the only remaining Empire. To-day, we see the Stone Kingdom or,’ in other words, the “nation and oompany of nations,” in Great Britain and her Dominions. • To-day, we also see the Stone. King- , dom (British Empire) in possession, 'by conquesl or mandate, of all that 'large area of land promised to Abraham’s descendants (from the Nile to the Euphrates) excepting that small portion of Syria at present under man- : ;date ! to Franco and this also will, at •the right time, come into British pos- . session. ' . .In. connection with the foregoing it Is interesting to notice that the word "British” is derived from two Hebrew words: Brit (or Brith) (Covenant), ish (man). Therefore, the British are the Covenant people. Probably enough has been written to arouse interest.of those who may desire to enquire more fully into the matter of the origin of the British Throne.

The King—Who Is He? Reference to the genaeologlcal tree of the Royal Family will show that King George the V. is descended from King David who reigned over the nation Israel more than 3000 years ago. Here again has an emphatic promise been literally fulfilled in history. “For thus saitli the Lord. David shall never want a man t,o sit upon the throne of the House "of Israel.” The facts arc then that the “Stone Kingdom” and “nation and company of nations" are two old names for the British Empire, which is to last for ever in spite of the groanings of the “gloomy Dean.” This Empire originated In Abraham, who lived about 2000 years B.C. and is ruled over by a direct descendant of King David who reigned over the same nation so long since.

It may be of interest to state that the present Prince of Wales ..(one of whose names Is David) was on his 2Glh birthday In the hundredth generation of 30 years each from his ancestor King David. The reason for giving the name “David” to the Prince is as follows (quoted from "The Royal House'of Britain, and Enduring Dynasty," by W. M. H. Milner, M.A., F.R.G.S., A.V.1.). “Blanche Lady Waterford, now passed to her rest, a personal friend of the Duchess of York —herself a keen believer In the Dnvidic origin of our Royal House—two months before the birth of tiie first little Prince of York, suggested to Ills mother that the chilli, if a boy, should be named as he Is named, and that David should be ills last name, ‘because,’ she said, ‘I believe that he will be David our Prince foretold by ttie prophet, under whom we shall repossess the Promised Hand.’

“Lady Waterford was laid aside by a serious illness for two months, and said or heard no more about, the matter until the child was baptised, and given the names exactly as she had suggested. She, then received a telegram: 'Baby is called David.’ "This lias, with unauthorised additions, appeared more than once in print, hut we have it direct from one who heard it from Lady Waterford's

own lips, one whose name Is and will be venerated for Ills researches Into the origin and destiny of our Imperial Race and its Royal Dynasty—the late lamented Venerable Denis Hanan, Doctor of Divinity and Archdeacon of Cashel. "From David to David—and from Aaron to David—the generations can be counted through a number of lines. The Dynasty of David rules from ttie 'Throne of the Lord’ and will rule I lie world.”
