FAMOUS ACTRESS DEAD.

LOVELY MARY MOORE. Lady Wyndham, formerly Miss Mary Moore, the actress, and widow of Sir Charles Wyndham, died recently, says an English paper, at her home in York Terrace, Regent’s Park. Lovely Mary Moore, as she was known to an earlier generation of playgoers, was, with her deep blue eyes and soft voice, an Incomparable actress in light comedy, She was born in 1861, and she first began to play in the provinces in 1885. Returning to London, she played at the Criterion Theatre under the management of Sir (then Mr) Charles Wyndham. She rose to the position of leading lady at that theatre, and later, with Sir Charles Wyndham, at Wyndham's Theatre and the New Theatre. She was associated with him in the management of these theatres and the Criterion Theatre. Hor first husband, Mr James Albery, a dramatist, died in 1889, and she married Sir Charles in 1916. Lady Wyndham played many roles with conspicuous success. Her principal parts were Ada Ingot in “David Garrick," Lollic in “Two Boses,” Lady Susan in “The Case of Rebellious Susan,’’ Lady Eastnoy in ‘‘Mrs Dane's Defence,” and Mrs Gorringc in “Mrs Gorringe’s Necklace.” One of the most, beautiful actresses of her day, she took enormous pains with her work. Cyril Maude, in liis reminiscences, wrote: “l have seen her absolutely weep at rehearsals in her desire to do better than she was afraid she could."
